        Went here after watching Epicurious' 4 Levels of French Fries video, because I'm so intrigued by the pickled french fries... And somehow the recipe on this video is oddly similar to the lvl. 3 chef's one, down to the cabbage & the apple sauce. Huh 🤔🤔🤔

                            This video is awful. The cook speaks so quickly that it's horribly hard to decipher what the hell he's saying. Hard to follow, confusing! Bon Appétit shouldn't publish something of such poor quality.

                                  Al’s place is hands down my favorite restaurant in SF. However, it’s the smoked applesauce that really makes those fries magical.

                                                                      It’s been a long time since I’ve seen so much hate on a food video. The guy is hipstery, sure, but that doesn’t inherently make him a worse person. The fries are expensive, and while they aren’t super hard to make, they’re more difficult than most places fries and probably taste completely different. If you don’t want to pay for something different, don’t. I don’t see people hating on aged cheeses or blue cheese because it’s basically the same thing, but more expensive. I wouldn’t ever buy these, because I don’t live there and I don’t have the money to spend on fries like that, but if I did I would to have the experience.
