Was this your first Google Assistant with a screen? You sound surprised by how it functions....
It functions the same as all smaller screened devices....
It takes off. On google search, it's the first video. On YouTube search, it's the second video
Hey psssssst, Your video’s has ads too! Loser!
I almost didn’t see this pinned message, then I remember I don’t have the nest and I can see comments
Johnny really? How did I not know that? You’re so smart
Kinda glad i chose echo show 5
Got 31 devices working on it and the open skill app and 3 party support is great the only downside is that when ur internet is out it wont work but other then that im starting to use it alot
I honestly have no idea why in the world anyone would bother spending so much money on this specific device. The best thing to do is just grab the first gen which goes up for $50 - $60 on eBay or just get the mini. These devices while it's cool to have a nice speaker it's not worth it. You're better off in utilizing those devices to help you with day to day task and smart home functionality but that is it. I have a Google Hub 1st gen and I'm loving it.
So wait... You pay $230 for a buggy hub and they STILL show ads? o_O
Google is bad umm k
WHY WIFEY IN KITCHEN AND NOT YOU
Glad I did not buy it. Back to the drawing board for mommas xmas gifts!
that case is more expensive than my pc.
Just got this notification today
You're so funny! Thanks for the informative "rant". If it's worth anything, I think your expectations are reasonable! Ps: btw Wyze is also Google, but i noticed it's not supported(?).
Google's primary business is marketing/ads, so you can't be shocked when they're trying to collect info or deliver ads.
Couldn't they just create an Android tablet, include a wireless charging stand with a built-in Bluetooth speaker, and have a "Google Home Mode" baked into the device? They'd sell more tablets, they'd be more useful, and it's 100% portable around the house.
They're already made something similar with the Pixel Stand. All they would need to do is create a larger version for tablets with a small speaker attached.
Wow isnt it SOO HARRD just to say the words "Ok google, show me the weather"

ATM Machine.....
The Google home lets you cast hulu and Netflix from your phone. Does the max not allow this?
My favorite part about the Google home hub is that it works just like a Chromecast! You can just cast almost any app from your phone. And you can cast your phone screen onto it. Not sure why that isn't mentioned here
Yeah, he mentioned it. It's a very obvious solution to his problems. Plus if you don't have YouTube Premium you are watching ads on every screen. Since I have premium I don't see ads on mine. Like he said, he was just ranting because he didn't do his research first
YouTube comment
Root it! take the control back from google and install a better android version.
Bought one during black Friday with some hue smart lights and light strips bundle. I put max on my kitchen counter and have been using it whenever I'm cooking or washing dishes. The non-existent browsing ability sucks for sure, so I just cast the YT vid from my phone for bigger display and better audio. The main reason I got max is because my phone and tablet can't pick up my voice when they are playing music and such, which makes hands free rewind/skip impossible. Max sure is overpriced for what it can do as of right now, here is hoping it will get Netflix support down the road. And I personally don't really mind the spying aspect of the mic and cam. I'm just a regular dude living a regular life that has nothing worth hiding.
Google, as always, overpromises and underdelivers. Oh yeah - then they discontinue it.
Dammit....just bought one last week and it will be here tomorrow....sure I can probably send it back but theres that dam "restocking fee" of 25 bucks...hate home shopping tv.
ewwwwwww i want one of those ewwwwwwwww i want the large evil company to have ears and eyes into my home ewwwwwwwww i want to become a congressman ten years from now and be blackmailed by my google nest ewwwwwwwwww
3:30 which galaxy tab a do you have?
So you bought this device without even learning what the smaller hub did? The original hub has been out there for an year and there are a ton of reviews, complaints about it which you could have watched and easily decide if you should buy the bigger version or not. Instead you buy this, make a video to complain about it. You have a nice business model too lol.
You made my google assistant open google dou. HACKER 😋😋
Saved me $200. Genuine thanks my dude.
I got a Nest Hub Max on Black Friday and don't regret purchasing it. With that said, I do agree 100% with what you said in this video. I am just fortunate it works with every single device I have linked it to, my main gripe is that it does not let you use Google Hangouts and a few other video call services. It's like they are trying to force you to use Google Duo.... smh.
Rants are the best!
Glad I watched this video. I was contemplating buying one. I'll stick with my phone or tablet instead. As always, great videos Kyle.
damn another in house government/corporation spy system
5:50 honestly I think these devices are entirely for googles benefit not the users. Yes there are certain conveniences to them but I find for instance that duckduckgo gives much better results to a lot of searches, this device literally just lets google decide what you get to see
Kyle, tell Lyle to steal you an amazon echo from the amazon store next time hes in there bumming and stealing. I love mine.
Because you did a review and now you don't need it anymore?
Alexa Show 8?
I'm so confused by this review.
A lot of your criticism was because it didn't do things a tablet does (web browser, on screen keyboard, app support) but it's literally not a tablet and not advertised as one?? You said it yourself, it's a Google home with a screen. Imagine how terrible the experience of browsing the internet on this giant static screen would be. You're not gonna have family movie night with this thing, but you might use it to play a video in the background while you're doing something else. Most people already have another dedicated device whether that's a phone, tablet, laptop etc for when they want to sit down and watch YouTube videos (which have ads across all platforms so I don't understand the problem, it's a free service and if ads are a problem then you can pay for a premium subscription).
It feels like you kind of missed the point of what this product is.
ad hell.... no thanks
I have the same problem. I brought it for wifey. I didn't think about having a tablet in my kitchen. Am Gona return mine.. 👍👍👍
Valid
I just bought a used AIO pc from Salvation army for $10, a wireless keyboard with attached touchpad for $3, and upgraded the cpu and ram from what I had on hand. Works a lot better for a fraction of the price.
So pretty much this is what youtube is going to look like in the future.... great....... feels sooo about "YOU" and not THEM....
This video validates everything I have ever thought of these devices. They are pointless.
That cloth cover is a hard pass for kitchen use as far as I'm concerned.
I don't know why both Amazon and Google seem so fixed on that. It's impossible to clean *especially in the kitchen*. I'd far prefer a regular plastic back. Sure its "boring" but its perfectly functional, and at least I can keep it clean.
So... you bought a thing that does the things that the thing in your hand does, but not as well. Hmmm.
Great review.
It has chrome cast you can cast anything to it
Buying google products is like opening your house to the government. No thanks. I like my privacy.
Put it in the bathroom were you leave the rest of your shit.
