Yes, please do another video on your travel palettes. I struggle with making choices on trips. I like all my eye colors but they are all in different palettes. How do you decide.

Muji makes great travel containers with pumps and spray nosles and in different sizes. I pack a few days before so I can see what I am missing. And when I am back I use the things out of the travel container until they are empty, clean them and I am ready for the next trip without wasting anything. Greetings from Germany 🙂

I LOVE the clear/grey travel case. I have been looking for one like that! Something that would go beautifully with it & my new favorite is a palette from “Salt NY”” It is a vegan leather empty palette that zips around. It comes in grey or black. It has enough padding to protect your products, but not overly so. I think it would go beautifully together & now I’m going to order the case you have.

Vera Bradley makes a nice TSA approved makeup bag. It’s the same overall dimensions as a quart ziplock, but it’s wider and shorter, with a heavier plastic that will withstand multiple trips. Maneater is my go to travel palette as well. 🙂

I traveled for work for years. Your video is the closest I have found to my own travel packing routine. I agree with you - you have to pare down but in a way that makes you feel like yourself while on the road. For years I used Trish McEvoy. I literally used one of her planners and had it pre-stocked with brushes and her makeup IN my suitcase. So all I had to do when preparing for a trip is add some essentials (similar to your little note), mascara, primer, lipsticks/glosses, etc. Yes, I was using a different makeup on the road vs. when at home, but I kind of looked forward to the change and made it worked for me. It cut my packing time in half.

Your packing videos are the best on youtube, I use a lot of your tips so thank you for the updated video. Rephyr supposedly launched a travel brush set, I believe it's just their normal brushes but with shorter handles -- thought I'd mention that.

I've been trying to downsize my overall makeup collection, my goal is for everything to fit into my makeup bag, a full face with a few options. I can do it, I don't wear foundation or need powder and some products I just don't use on a regular basis so I'm going to phase them out. I know it sounds boring to you but I'm kind of excited about it! I used to be that way and traveling was a breeze back then! ;)

P.S. I'm glad to see you started using the DS blushes! Aren't they amazing? Have you tried the Shiseido Minimalist Whipped blushes? I have a hard time picking between that and the DS, love them both.

Also when I pack I always think I will need certain things . A great way to pack is to put your items in a trays on dresser and bathroom. Put the items you are using for a week . This will help you realize what you truly use

If you’re looking for a makeup bag similar to the Truffle Co, SpaceNK makes a smaller one for just $26 and it’s plenty big enough for my makeup - I do have a mix of full size and sampler size and include two small Real Techniques eye brushes. It’s well made and comes in a few colors 😊.

I travel a lot and just wouldn't ever bring this much, I still really loved this video. For me, I'm all about reduced expectations when I travel. I have used those full face palettes different brands put out for years, no one needs more. For the past two years I've used the Hourglass holiday palettes (and I don't pack eyeshadow, I use that palette). I buy the mini versions of my favorite essentials, and have retractable brushes. I have NEXUS so I don't have too deal with taking out a liquids bag, I actually stopped using one years ago and it's never been a problem. But if you don't have that, these tips are a really great reminder of what needs to be packed separately!

My favourite makeup bag is from Tartan and Twine, the deluxe weekender. I use a lot of travel sized products from kits and samples. My favourite travel palette is Dior Backstage Cool palette as it also has an eyeshadow primer in it as well. I would love to hear about your favourite travel palettes. All this talk of travel and I want to go on a trip now!

I recently bought a small size case from Amazon for about £15. It has movable /removable sections in the bottom and a zipped bit in the lid for eye palettes and brushes..... Worth every penny 😍😊. I think here in the UK we have to pack sharps like tweezers scissors etc in our suitcase, we can't have it as carry on. Xx. 🇬🇧 Yes please to travel friendly palette ideas.

I always just put all my makeup and skin care creams in one bag in my carry on suitcase or backpack and it has never been a problem. Even when I forget to put my small setting spray in my liquids bag (I think that may just be a little luck on that one haha). Just wondering if people really get stopped for foundation/gloss/face cream/etc? I only ever put true liquids in my liquids bag.

I travel a ton and have never been stopped for mascara, lippies or cream blush (Glossier Cloud Paint). Also, I bought the Flanabag from your other packing video and I love it! I can JAM it full and it never busts.

That Flanabag is one of my best finds EVER! I'm so glad you like it too! :)

Thanks for the great tips... very timely for me since I'll be flying for the first time in several years soon. I'm thinking about all the serums I use and not really wanting to risk hauling those with me. Do you make your skincare routine more basic when traveling?

I do. Check out the linked video (my older travel video). It goes into skincare, although I use a different bag now and do some things differently. I will be updating soon!

I always put my makeup in my carry on and never had to use quart size bags for the liquids like tm or foundation. They never stop me. I just keep all my makeup together and it’s all under 1 oz. are we supposed to put lip glosses and all liquids in a seperate ziplock ? I thought that was for mini shampoos and cleansers not makeup

Audra Schwarz It applies to makeup as well. Foundation, mascara, lip gloss are all considered liquids and need to be in the bag. Check the TSA website for a full list.
