I hate how in this movie, Kinderman talks about Father Karris and says " he was my friend...and I loved him..." and he knew him for about ohh, 1 hour?? lol

I'm not really a Star Trek fan but you could do a lot worse than a Star Trek holiday.

Whether you like them or not, I'd love to see a Re:View of Buckaroo Banzai or Super Troopers. Buckaroo Banzai has all that craziness of how it got made and Super Troopers has a sequel to... touch on, I guess.

I like to add the elderly lady cruising the ceiling upside down, very much looks like Miss Marple in 'Murder she wrote' by Agatha Christie. You recon that was done on purpose?

They do discuss father morning and how his hair turned white from the exorcism. It's just very subtle how they introduce him.

Did anyone watch the Exorcist TV show that came fairly recently (around 2016)? I feel like no one watched it, and its really fricking good.

Fun Fact: Another Milwaukee native was a huge fan of Exorcist 3. This was *_Jeffery Dahmer's favourite film._* He watched it on the nights before he went out to find a victim. He said "It put [him] in the mood for murder."

Thanks again for the great and insightful review! Always liked Exorcist III, a very fascinating watch. Been a fan of George C. Scott since seeing him in Dr. Strangelove ;)

The Ninth Configuration is an underrated movie with fantastic dialogue, interesting characters and a thoughtprovoking philosophical/religious angle. Maybe give it a watch someday Jay!

The original ending would've played perfectly because the entire film is anticlimactic. We don't see murder, demons, not much swearing, dry dialogue. It's a lot weirder to have a cold procedural thriller with a Metallica 'Until It Sleeps' - looking ending of an exorcism. Let Kinderman just shoot him dead with no music and the creepy Taos Hum sounding undertones and end it.

The sound sting when the young nurse is killed- I swear that was used in samples in industrial music in the early 90s, although I can't pinpoint it. I'm thinking Ministry.

Personally I laugh at this movie. Douriff sure he was good, but the whole movie is so ridiculous it really kills a good performance like his. Ridiculous like, old lady on the ceiling, George c Scott yelling, that fact that every murder is described in intricate detail. For example they took two minutes to describe the correct dosage to paralyze a kid. There probably is more but it’s has been a bit since I watched it last. Any thoughts?

Edit: douriff singing with a boys voice to me is hilariously funny

                                              Jay mentions Blatty’s other film
                                              Ninth Configuration.
This film in itself is a loose sequel to the Exorcist.
The astronaut whom Regan says is going to die in space, reappears in Ninth Configuration, (this time played by Scott Wilson who also plays the Chain-smoking Doctor in the Exorcist III) now In an institution after having a breakdown before going into space out of fear of there being no God.
It’s a very challenging film psychologically, and the writing is mesmerizing.
In addition, the film is actually hilarious, Blatty more than his other films showcasing his comedic writing and directing skills.
Unfortunately, it’s difficult to find the film in a high quality release, as the audio mix in the version I saw is very poor.
I nonetheless highly recommend it to any fan of Exorcist, William Peter Blatty, Or quality Religious films.
It also features Jason Miller and Ed Flanders who played Karras and Dyer respectively in Exorcist III.
