As of July 5th, 2019, it was me and my girlfriend’s first anniversary. LDR may seem hard, especially the fact that you might not be able to see that person for a very long time. If you really love that person, having an argument should not last for days, as it’s not really true love. You have to be motivated- don’t let someone or some people say that your ldr is pointless, because it’s your life story, your life. Be Dedicated, enjoy every single moments you have together, do things that’ll make your partner always remember those beautiful moments. And most importantly, love that person. Like, really love that person, so so much. If you follow all of these steps, including Mathew’s steps, you shall have the relationship last as long as you need. Matt, I am in a very long distance relationship. It has become awesome. When we both recognized the mural attraction and connection...we bloomed. 1) What we do is stay consistent as you mentioned in messaging one another. 2) We talk always each about how much we are excited to see each other soon. He says, " I am counting the seconds."
3.) We constantly confirm our plans together when we get to see each other. So the goal is by Christmas, so we can have a sesonally romantic Christmas.
These 3 actions help us continually grow closer.

I lost contact with a love 47 years ago. We ran in to each other in 1989 but he was married at the time. Lost touch again until Valentine's Day this year. I found him on Facebook and sent him a message. We have both been married 4 times up to this point and we are now both single. He is living in Arkansas and I in California. Since 2/15/19 we have talked every day either via text or telephone. He wanted to fly me to Arkansas this summer for 2 weeks to see if it could work with us. After 2 months of talking he, all of a sudden, cancelled all of it. He told me he wanted to remain friends but did not want to live with another woman. He said if I lived in Arkansas he would love to be my boyfriend, date, spend weekends together and go on trips. I am in no position to move to Arkansas for a "date". I have been in love with this man for 47 years. He still sends me texts and calls me occasionally. I am 71 years old and he is 72 years old. I am devastated at the thought of losing him again. A lot was said in the last 2 months and now nothing of importance. Any suggestions.

While I was in an LDR with my last boyfriend, it was because initially (while he lived in Hawaii at the time, as I do, we lived on different islands)...he eventually moved to Texas, but I could afford to move (at that time) & go with him.

He (my ex) eventually broke the relationship off, which (strange as it sounds) didn't bug me in the least (that he broke it off).

The only thing that DID bug me was the WAY he broke it off. He chose to be a coward and had a mutual friend of ours give me the message, and I was told that it's because he's scared of me. 🤣😂

But it's all good, cause while we were together for 9 years (he broke it off in February 2017 just before Valentine's Day).

I had already met a guy (via Facebook) who would eventually end up being my current boyfriend (& soon to be fiancé).

My current boyfriend & I are also in an LDR, but the difference this time (other than the fact that I still live in Hawaii, & he's in Pennsylvania) is the fact that he's not only older than me (my now Texas ex was younger than me), but he's also WAY more mature. My (Texas) ex couldn't handle the distance (while I could).

That being said, my current boyfriend & I met originally via a Facebook Hydrocephalus group (as we both have the condition, along with us both having Epilepsy, & a bunch of other medical conditions).

I probably won't be able to move out there to Pennsylvania (I'd be moving in with him & his mom) until after we get married, & we'll stay put (at my mother in law's house) until we have enough saved up to move out on our own (after we find a place).

Right now, it's only him & his mom at home, as his 3 sisters have all married & moved out, and my (future) father in law passed away in June 2015.

My man & I have known each other since late 2014, & became Facebook friends in January 2015. We'll be celebrating our first year (as a couple) on August 7, 2019, and we're both hoping that he'll be here to visit me in early August (& he'll be here for nearly a month), for our anniversary (August 7th), his 40th birthday (August 13th), & my mom's birthday (August 23rd) before he heads back to PA on August 25th or so 😁
