                            there are as many ways cooking rice as many types of rice are existing. There is no unique formula for cooking rice ... i will say you just have to know your rice :)

                            I have been making rice and pasta since I was 10 and I cook One to one ratio for non mushy rice!!!!!!!!! For pasta you salt the water like the sea and do not use oil in the water pasta does not stick in salty water. I am floored

                                                        The basic ..... Of cooking rice is 1:2 ratio.
                                                        One part rice and two parts water for any perfect rice and just not only basmati rice

                                                          All rice needs exactly one to one for the rice. The extra is for evaporation. Some rice calls for a half cup, and some for a whole cup of extra for evaporation.

                                                          And that ratio only applies to a single cup of rice.
                                                          If you don't believe that, try cooking 3 cups rice with 6 cups water and see what happens.
