Click clack I was taken aback. Wonderin’ ‘bout those switches of light, yeah.
Let’s find out what the point is of all that clacking, shall we?

I swear I learn more from this channel alone than I did with 12 years of schooling
YAH THE UK HAS THE SAFEST PLUGS BECAUSE SOME OF US ARE DUMB
I got some older Leviton bad boys that "ka-chunk" super loud that installed. Love it.
Actually incorrect Ac power runs at 60hz so that current switches 60times per second not 120.
"Even edison knew that" yea what a prick.
please do a video on railroad crossigs
How long where you sparking the outlit
Fun fact: Switches come in different grades depending on their work environment. I.e.: If used in a carpentry workshop or a mill where small particles are floating in the air, a vacuum sealed switch is used. This is to prevent that small spark that always occurs upon switching. This spark can cause an ignition of the particles in the air and create and explosion. Often times they look like tiny vaults.
I just wonder how much this guy smokes
I love my old mercury switches. And they are safe. The globes of mercury won't break unless you took them off and mashed them with a hammer. Noiseless and arc free.
you're cute
Surprised you didn't also talk about blinkers and why and how they click.
I'm an electrician. Ask me questions if you like
I must create a similar set up as your background. I love it.
4:33 *_"Nothing's a perfect insulator"_*
If you want to get REALLY technical, empty space also has a dialectic strength, and therefor a breakdown voltage.
So you could say that "nothing *_ISN'T_* a perfect insulator"! :D
I think that the spark makes the noise
1:55 scared me
Hold my beer.
Throws 1000kv switch
hear that satisfying click?
This video is oddly satisfying
but like dont we actually hear that click because of the air exiting so fast from the swiftly met ends? and so the sound waves travels to our air and stuff?
"Ooh! Let's do that again!"
warning label at 2:26 : *am i a joke to you?*
Very interesting video, this channel give me new respect for simple things I beforehand never paid any attention to. Love it!
You posted this on my birthday when I turned 9 (I'm on my dad's account)
1500W of current.
This is big brain time
Click. 👈 ..💡
6:56 "I'm Tom Bodett for Motel 6, and we'll let the electrical contacts weld together for ya."
For extra fun slowly flip a switch for sparks. Works much better on older switches.
Yeah probably should stop doing that after watching this.
imagine not having safe plugs made by Anglo switch gang
I'm only watching this because it had a click bait title.
My switch doesn't click
Why is this guy so weird
One use for the lazy no-click switches: I used to care for some rugrats in a house with a 2-way hallway switch set. At bedtime, the kids would flip the lights on when I wanted them off, so I would put 'my' switch in the middle position, disabling both switches.
This video is so dangerous, it bothers the hell out of me. Live wires like that are referred to as death wires, or suicide cords
So, THIS is how he became Eraserhead. 😆 Seriously, his face is identical. Give him electric shock hairdo and it's him.
I have some of those loud switches
I don't know if they still exist, but I remember 40 years ago or so there were silent switches available. I believe they were mercury switches which utilized the same principal as old timey thermostats.
Instant favorite of all time list!
I have a couple of those really hard to switch lights in my house
In comparisons to electrical sockets from US and UK, the UK electrical sockets are way more safer than the US sockets by far. It's a somewhat perfect design for complete safety, meaning you won't get an electro shock from turning a switch on or off. In addition to these safety measures you also get socket covers to put over the electrical outputs to prevent kids or anything from getting in there and trying to electrocute themselves. I say UK plugs are the best of their design because each and every appliance carries their own fuse so they don't trip the circuit breaker, its cheaper and more efficient that most appliances sold in other countries that don't employ the same kind of setup in their appliances. Because if the fuse happens to break, you can just take it out and replace it in that appliance by pulling the little plastic tab that you see on the plugs themselves to reveal a pill sized fuse, buying a small pack of fuses from your local hardware store is about as cheap as ₤5. If you try to plugin an appliance without a fuse in them they simply will not turn on.
In addition to other safety measures for electrical sockets, if you take a UK power strip you can't electrocute yourself because of a safety prong keeps the shutters closed, and also prevents people from sticking their fingers in there and electrocuting themselves. So long as the top prong, the earthed prong of a plug is inserted as it goes into the socket it will safely unlock the shutters so the plug can make a connection , and you can hear a solid click sound as you insert a plug, and thats the sound of the safety shutters opening and closing.
But when a device uses a Transformer it still can arc when in socket
For 240v connections for welders/plasma cutters or other machines, the switches are usually called hammers because the "click" is closed to bashing a hammer on a metal table.
5:06 this is the most terrifying piece of Hardware since death cables.
Can we get a slo-mo on those unpluggings in the opening??
Imagine having Cherry MX blue light switches
So blind people know it's on
You should talk about how 120 is more dangerous than 220 volts, as 220 is more “in rythum” with our heart
Somewhat safely lmao
Here I am 2 am on school night watching why swiches are clicky
