  • ESPN FC’s Alejandro Moreno, Craig Burley and Dan Thomas lay out why the Bundesliga has become a premiere destination for young North American talent to hone their craft. With Chelsea midfielder Christian Pulisic’s time at Borussia Dortmund as the gold standard, Moreno and Burley outline how German clubs maximize the potential of American players Weston McKennie at Schalke, Josh Sargent at Werder Bremen, Tyler Adams at RB Leipzig, along with Canadian Alphonso Davies.

I'm glad of how Davies has Developed in Bayern Munich. At first I was thinking he was going to be just a Bench Player, even though he came with a $23 Million Transfer Fee which is a Bargain in Europe. Still he rose through the Ranks like Pulisic did in Dortmund and became a Force for the Back Line.

Davies is redefining what it means to be a modern attacking fullback. The kid has got pace and stamina for ages. Drops deep to defence, yet will be involved in the attack. Its glorious to see him sprint towards and away from opposing players.

He's just getting better and better. Sooner or later he will get a chance playing higher up the left wing. I'm convinced he can replicate what Sancho does, and more, once given a chance. In his prime he will be the most complete left field player in the world, both defensively and offensively. Just watch. Bayern got themselves a diamond.

Davies is a critical player, especially at the moment because of all the injuries. He is Bayerns player of the season next to Lewandowski and Gnabry, unbelievable consistent and fast as a Rocket.
He will have his big breakthrough in 2020/2021 latest

Off course I’m watching the Bundesliga (season ticket holder) but these quotes aren’t a valid evidence because you’ll find quotes like this about every other player too.
Maybe u get me wrong I’m not trying to hate or something it’s just to me he doesn’t stand out when i watch Bayern.
I have to admit like the most people i'm absolutely not focused on him so maybe because of that i just fly over him.

U have to type "Bayerns Spieler der Hinrunde" in Google, every poll has him or Lewandowski on #1, Flick said to the media "He is a life insurance for us", Neuer said "Its unbelievable how far he is already",
Every reporter/News team has him on #1 or #2, the fanbase has him on #1 or #2...just google it and U will find your answer 😘

Pritam Biswas Bundesliga is hard just as any other top league in the world or even harder, but talented young seem to strive in the league, but reason for the is because the clubs send them in the the action they give them the play time if and I say if they prove them self to the coaches that they can play at that level, so as a young player if u can play at the Bundesliga level then the rest a Europe shouldn't really be no problem for u as play to get u feet go as long as u are get the playing time, for example say a player like Sancho transfer to Manu, Real, Valencia, which ever club and get the playing time I believe he perform the same or better, worse if he did catch no type a injury, cause injury is a part a the game that just how it is.. But yeah he will do just fine, even Pulisic if he get to start more offend ppl will realize he's really good

Leonardo Hernandez I hope you realize that Davies is only in the starting 11 because Hernandez and Sule are out injured and Bayern doesn’t have any other back up defenders. Once they come back Davies will be back to warming the bench while listening to his idol Justin Bieber

@Jamir Baker no, I'm not hating on him, but its ludicrous when Americans try to compare his trajectory to that of someone like Davies. Was it not for papa Marsch and the fact he's been a while with that awful RB organization then Adams doesn't get the favoritism required to get in Leipshit's starting XI. Davies on the other hand EARNED his transfers and way into the starting XL of a top 5 club, no external help whatsoever, and he is proving to currently be the best player in the world at his respective position. The same can't be said of Adams. Again, he'll be a GOOD player, but nothing exceptional (i.e. Sancho, Mbappe, Felix level)

@Hanford Reach i don't get what he's arguing with, the bundesliga is years ahead of the mls, and talent wise. It's just better. There's a reason why they're called the retirement home

ngl having seen some games myself this season, alphonso davies is one of the best left field playing footballers ive ever seen, no joke about this

covers the entire pitch well with great athleticism, technique, speed and power, with high level thinking

a true winner if he is told that he can do so. ill be trying to coach this guy soon, can surpass a sarr or sane level type, even alaba

unique players. a lot of them are just hybrids with mixed skillsets, but im already saying too much, im a genius and it'll take years for people to catch up with me anyway

                      @Leonardo Hernandez

yeah i already said that, why you just copying what im saying. alphonso still lacks a final ball and higher capacity for deciding things generally in that third phase during transition, needs a hazard type winger to achieve his best levels

He'll likely be the most completely left field player in the world when he reaches his prime, which he is not even close to doing yet. Davies is what happens when you have raw talent and strong work ethic all in one. Kid is a generational talent.
