    Maybe flaxseed flour/meal would have worked better than almond.

      Wheat flour has gluten which is the polymer that holds it together. Almond flour won't make it bind. You need a gluten-free source of binder, like potato starch, corn starch, tapioca starch, or glutinous rice flour (amylopectin).

                                Yogurt is an easy replacement, just use hummus with some lemon juice. Not sure why people would complain about that.

                                          If you use almond flour might be worth to add psyllium husk. That will give the binding for the party

                                                                        As I was watching this I was thinking he's going to use bread crumbs to bind the burgers and I won't be able to make them cause I can't eat gluten. Then he pulls out almond flour and recommends other gluten free flours. My stomach did a little happy dance. I cannot tell you how many cooking videos I've watched and I'm think okay this looks good then the gluten appears and all my hopes are dashed.

                                                                                    If I want a veggie burger, I’m not looking to recreate meat. If I want meat, I’ll eat meat. I’ll sometimes have a veggie burger just because it’s lighter and doesn’t leave me feeling sluggish.
