A fantastic movie. Among my favorites of all time.. and that is saying a lot (was born in the 50s).

Was great, however, designed once again to make you think a microchip implant would be cool, and to make you think the blond race is either evil or inaduquate.
Smells like the satanic hook nosed mafia to me. They probably used their international banks to force the animators to make it that way, as usual.

You tied the whole movie together, no matter how amazing the acting, no matter how amazing the sound design and everything else is, when the music is off in a scene, it can make it fall flat. If it's simply ok it just isn't noticeable. I know there are tons of movies where I love a scene but couldn't tell you for the life of me what music was scoring it.

What you did added to every single moment, freakin' amazing work!

I never saw any of the anime that you continually refer to. The movie had a great story-line and the main character showed her development throughout the film. I did enjoy this movie and I was invested in Alita becoming the strong presence she was!

i went to see it opening night. i didnt know there was an anime or manga. And after watching it with a major webe friend of mine and he told me it was based on manga and anime(and or course him mumbling under his breath about how many scenes matched the anime and manga) i went to my local library to try and find the manga to see what it was all about. all in all, i watched the anime, read the manga and of course saw the movie. all were good and the movie and the cgi in the movie were amazing. looking forward to seeing a sequel !!

Just a tip: It's easier to accept Alita's eye design if you keep the fact she's a cyborg from Mars in your head because if your mostly machine, like Alita is, that pretty much means you can customise your appearance to really stand out visually.

I also personally really liked that it was a dangerous situation that kicked Alita's memory in to clue us in on her past without giving too much away. I also think the idea that Alita seems OP is because she has a unique martial art lost to time, meaning she is less predictable, she does lose to Grewishka later because he's working for Nova so he knows what Alita's capable of to an extent.

One of the things I REALLY like is that Zalam is almost never given a good look, and is always obscured by itself base platform! Cause'how would we know what it looks like when this film is told through Alita's perspective?

                The movie was absolutely amazing.

But after reading the manga I gotta say the manga is far better. Much much darker.

I feel really bad about coming at this movie very critically based on the reviews it got and the fact basically every anime live action film hasn't been up to par. Now I look back and can see all the work and dedication that was put into both the graphics, the original story, and so many other aspects, I can say I really enjoyed this film. It makes me really sad Alita: Battle Angel didn't do well in the U.S theaters, but if it accomplished anything it surely made me love the the world of Alita. I can't wait to read the manga. Also, is the anime good too? Is it on funimation, crunchyroll, etc.?

I was hooked on seeing this film from the moment I saw the first teaser trailer! Having seen it, and now owning the DVD, I am delighted. I only hope that they make a sequel, as that may ensure that someone makes a reasonable scale (ie. 1/10th or 1/12th) resin figure of Alita (in normal body AND Berserker variants) for me to build and paint.

I liked the anime Battle Angel Alita when I saw it back in the 90s and I absolutely loved this movie too. It was a love letter to both manga and anime and showed what passion and talent can do to push the medium of film forward.

My father and I both adore cyberpunk and dystopian sci-fi movies, I was very familiar with Alita (my father not) and we both thoroughly enjoyed the movie! So much so, that my father (who has no particular interest in manga) wanted to seek out copies of it so he could read more of the story!!

I've heard complaints both about the Uncanny Valley and Alita being OP and my response to both is "Well, yeah. That's kinda the point." No one Iron City has ever encountered anything like her, so of course she stands out in both appearance and power level. And she does struggle against similarly powerful enemies. Hell, her entire body gets torn apart in one scene.

That was more due to the fact that her body wasn't designed for combat. Once she got her original body, there wasn't a single character introduced at that point that could beat her. But yes, it's literally said that nothing like her has existed since The Fall. Not to mention no one could even replicate her energy core.

When it got to Alita's peak at the end with THE motorball tournament and she pointed the sword at Nova, I was so upset when it left off there. I would LOVE a sequel and I want to see Zalem too and figure out why Hugo was so obsessed with it.

I got Alita cos of this EGA. Critics are talking out of an orifice that should really just be replaced with something mechanical. Never watched the Anime, but kinda looking forwards to that too.
