Lock looks great, keys looks terrible. They'll get stuck to every thread in your pocket, they also seem very fragile.

What if you were to get a 3D printer.. either standard polymer, or metal... print out the key as a total blank, then you should be able to scribe out a blank somewhat more easily...

What if you made 2 identical keys each with half the width of the original but same profile. One would be raked and the other smooth for tension. You would fit both in at the same and with one (smooth top) pressed against the back to engage notch for tension and the other for bumping. The motion would be similar to sprinkling salt. while pressed against back of lock and turning the fingers pinching the 2 half width keys would rub back and forth to bump lock while putting pressure on the tumbler. Just a thought. might try it myself

Maybe something mechanical as opposed to relying on fluid displacement would be easier - the precision needed for a tiny telescoping hydraulic that doesn't just leak fluid everywhere would be very expensive to produce. I'm going to be revisiting this lock in my head for a long time.

                                                                    • Kags _

No funny business with bendy snake keys or gigantic housings that really provide little benefit to that actual lock mechanism. It does seem like a nightmare if your key were to break in there though, and with the key being thin the way it is, it doesn't seem outside the realm of possibility.

Hey LPL, I really enjoy your videos and have learned many things to consider when selecting locks to protect my belongings.

Anyway, there is a video of someone using a vibrating pick to open this lock quite easily and I am suspicious of its veracity.

They never show the details of the key bitting and no closeups of disassembly.

Just wondering what you thought and maybe you might give it a go...
